Jay Kumar Sundararajan received the B. Tech. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India in 2003. He received the S.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA in 2005 and 2009 respectively. He is currently employed as a Senior Engineer in R & D at Qualcomm Inc.
Dr. Sundararajan's research interests are in network coding, information theory, scheduling, congestion control and wireless networks. He received the Siemens Prize for the best academic record in the EE Class of 2003 in IIT Madras, and the Morris Joseph Levin Award from the MIT EECS Department for the Best Masterworks Oral Presentation of Master's thesis in 2005. In 2008, he received the Marconi Young Scholar Award from the Marconi Society in recognition of research and academic performance during graduate studies.
