Professor Kleinrock created the basic principles of packet switching, the technology underpinning the Internet, and
directed the transmission of the first message ever to pass over the Internet. He is a pioneer of digital network
communications, and helped build the early ARPANET. Currently, Professor Kleinrock is a Professor of Computer Science
at the University of California at Los Angeles.
