The Marconi Society held its annual day-long Symposium and Award Ceremony again, on
the West Coast. The Symposium was entitled: "Flattening the Earth: The Social and Economic Implications of Communications."

The Marconi Society organizes conferences on topics in communications.
Each year the Society presents the Marconi Prize to a leading
scientist, engineer or humanitarian who has made a significant
